Hey guys! So I guess this is my first bloggy-like post (is that a word?) Anyways today is my birthday and as I sat in bed this morning, another year older, I reflected on my life so far.
Just kidding! I sat in bed this morning and thought about my birthday cake, which got me to thinking birthday are really weird. I mean if you really think about it we celebrate being born and getting older every year. Personally I am not the biggest fan of my birthday, not that I don't like the cake, or the presents, or the parties, but because they always end up making me sad at the end of the day. You know the whole another year older thing. Yeah, that's what gets me. Not necessarily the older part, but the memories.
It's crazy to think that just last year I was practically a kid, and now I can basically drive! You know what else gets me feeling kind of down? On your birthday it's all about you, everybody wishes you a happy birthday, you get presents, you get cake, but then tomorrow when you wake up it's just another day. It's just you and your leftover cake. You don't really feel too special anymore. It's so easy to forget just how special you are. So, this year, as I age, I have decided that I am going to try my hardest to make someone feel like it's their birthday everyday. Not with cake (although I would love that) but with a compliment. My hope is that I can make someone feel as special as they are everyday, because the best part about birthdays is the fact that it's your day. Well that and the cake. As I was saying, I really hope that some of you guys will help me with this goal because the world is such a dark place right now and could use some smiles.
Anyhow, enough sad stuff sorry if I bummed you out, I promise I'm not trying to! If your reading this and it's your birthday, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you get to eat cake and have a fantastic day. And if it's not you birthday, I hope you eat some cake anyways, because why not, ya know?
